Program Information
The Program
- 24-credit Program
- 22-credit hours of academic coursework
- Research component and Master’s thesis worth 2 credits
- LL.M. degree may be earned in as little as three semesters (or 18 months)
- Due to funding, all academic coursework must be completed by the end of the Summer 2010 semester. The thesis requirement must be completed by April 2011.
- English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction
- English for Academic Purposes (if indicated by TOEFL/IELTS score)
- Academic Writing
Logistics
- All academic courses offered at our program site located at Cairo University Faculty of Law
- We have a renovated classroom, as well as a computer lab, wireless internet access and a library
- Classes are generally held Monday through Thursday, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Classes are either one, two, or three weeks in length
Costs
- The program fee for Egyptians accepted for the Fall 2009 cohort is the equivalent of $7,500 USD (paid in Egyptian pounds). The program fee for non-Egyptians for Fall 2009 is the prevailing rate for LL.M. students admitted to the Indianapolis campus.

Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must hold a first degree in law (usually an LL.B. or higher) from an educational institution in a country other than the United States. Alternatively, an applicant with an academic degree other than in law must be licensed to practice law in a jurisdiction outside the United States.
- Applicants for whom English is a second language must have a score of at least 575 on the paper-based TOEFL, a score of at least 230 on the computer-based TOEFL, a score of at least 89 on the iBT TOEFL, or a score of at least 6.5 on the academic IELTS. Qualifying language scores must be less than two years old.
- A successful applicant for admission must demonstrate:
- academic achievement, documented with official academic transcripts, diplomas and/or graduation certificates;
- professional accomplishment, where applicable;
- two reference letters substantiating academic and/or professional accomplishments;
- English language competency
