& Printing Library
copiers no longer take cash. Add value to your IUPUI JagTag or purchase a copycard
for $1.00 and add value to it at the JagTag Station inside the Reserve Area,
near the Circulation Desk. The Copiers are located on the First and Second
Floors of the library, near the elevators. Printing is free for students
using the Westlaw and Lexis printers in the Computer Labs.

Steven Miller joined the Ruth Lilly Law
Library faculty in the summer of 2007. Prior to joining the law library at
IU, he was collections development and research services librarian and
associate professor at Ohio Northern University. Before that, he was a
lecturer and the reference librarian for research instruction at the
Northwestern University School of Law. Prof. Miller has been involved in
academic law libraries, legal education, and legal research since 1985. Over
the years, he has taught a variety of legal research topics and two law
courses. He has a special interest in electronic research and information
technology. In law school, he served as an editor of the Software Law
Journal, 1989-90. He has also been active in local and
national law library and bar organizations. He gave two presentations on
electronic legal research and web browser technology at two national
conferences in Chicago and Philadelphia in July of 2000. Additionally, he has
published several articles in various newsletters including the official
newsletter of the Government Documents Special Interest Section of the
American Association of Law Libraries and one notable journal on teaching
legal research and writing. |
Personal
Security Please
be aware that several thefts of laptops, purses, books etc. have been
reported in libraries across the campus. We advise that you not leave any of your
personal items unattended, at any time while you are in the library. If you must step away from your study area,
please take your belongings with you. Items found anywhere in the building
may be turned in to Therese at the Receptionist’s Desk in the atrium. Food & Drink Reminder Please
don’t forget that food is not allowed in the library, including candy and
snacks. Food items brought into the library increase the likelihood of pest
problems and the spread of germs.
Let’s all try to stay healthy as flu season approaches. Beverages are allowed, but they must be in
approved, spill-proof containers. If you’re not sure you have the right type
of container, please look at the examples beside the lobby display, or check
with the front desk staff member on duty. Extended Study Hours Study
hours for exams have been extended.
The library will be open until 2:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and
until midnight on Friday and Saturday of the exam period (November 29 – December 19). |

"The law is the witness and external deposit
of our moral life. Its history is the
history of the moral development of the race.” Oliver

Did
You Know… Sample Faculty Exams are now
available online? Selected
sample exams of current Law School Faculty have been scanned and are now
available through the library. The
link for these resources is: https://indylaw.indiana.edu/library/net/examfiles.html
A link will soon be available on the Library’s homepage. Some exams will have sample answers as
well. These exams will only be
available to law school students and faculty and you will need to enter your
ID and password to access them.
Additional exams will be added as they become available. Electronic Journals are now
even easier to find on IUCAT? The
IUCAT Serials Solutions project has been completed and those records
have now been added to IUCAT. A few things to remember about them: 1)
They
can only be found in IUCAT if your search is set to All libraries or All
Indianapolis libraries. 2)
An
easy way to identify them in a list of records is to look for the phrase [electronic resource] – e.g.,
Indiana health law review
[electronic resource]. 3)
Choose the IUPUI link
in the catalog record – this will direct you to all the ways the resource is available to
us on this campus. 4)
The Westlaw link
requires a Westlaw password. 5)
The Westlaw link doesn’t
take you directly to the journal, just to an initial search page. 6)
The LexisNexis Academic
link doesn’t work for our library – it requires a password to which we don’t
have access. If you have any
questions or problems with accessing either of these resources, please
consult one of the reference librarians for assistance. |
