Scott Bates offers an insider's perspective on human rights and anti-terrorism law around the globe. His lunch-hour presentation highlights the "War on Terror," rights of detainees, war crimes, failed states and how these affect human rights and civil rights.
„« Bates holds a J.D. from the University of Virginia and an MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics. He resides in Washington, DC with his wife, Lisa Tepper, who is a Foreign Service Officer of the Department of State.
„« Current Positions: o Senior Policy Advisor for the United States House of Representatives Select Committee on Homeland Security. O Capitol Hill staff member for Congressmen from across the US. O Member of the Joint Task Force on the Reorganization of the Department of Homeland Security for the Heritage Foundation. O Adjunct Professor of Law at IU School of Law at Indianapolis who is co-teaching International Law courses with Professor George E. Edwards.
