Indiana Health Law Review Symposium and McDonald Merrill Ketcham Award
Imagining The Next Quarter Century of Health Care Law

Location: Inlow Hall, 530 W. New York Street, Indianapolis, IN
Contact: Carsandra Knight 317-274-1912

This symposium honors the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary of The William S. and Christine S. Hall Center for Law and Health, Robert H. McKinney School of Law .

The Hall Center for Law and Health was established in 1987 to expand the curriculum and teaching of health law at the school of law and provide opportunities for student participation in Center-sponsored research, educational programs, and health law field placements. For more than a quarter of a century members of the Center faculty, their multidisciplinary research partners have conducted important legal and empirical research on health law issues in Indiana and the nation and interpreted health law issues for the bar, government, and the health care community.

On this, the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Hall Center, we welcome a stellar collection of nationally recognized health law scholars to celebrate this important birthday by looking ahead. To imagine the next quarter century of health care law and policy the symposium participants will be casting their critical predictive analysis on the major themes of health law, from finance and access to care through quality & ethics and emerging scientific and technological challenges.

Additionally, this year our Symposium conference will be home to the annual McDonald-Merrill-Ketcham Memorial Lectureship and Award for Excellence in Law and Medicine jointly sponsored by the Indiana University School of Medicine and the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. We are proud to announce that the 2012 awardee is Wendy Mariner, the Edward R. Utley Professor of Health Law, Bioethics & Human Rights at Boston University.
