Application Status Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I just submitted my application. How can I check my application status online?
A: You will be sent an e-mail with login information for the Online Status Check after we have received the electronic copy of your law school application from LSAC.
Q: My Online Status says the school requires 3 Letters of Recommendation, but I only have 2 letters and my status says Complete. Am I missing something?
A: No. While we strongly encourage applicants to submit 3 Letters of Recommendation, only 2 are required to complete your file.
Q: The Mailings section of my online status indicates my decision letter has been mailed, but I haven't received it yet. Where is my letter?
A: The date of your mailing may be slightly misleading. The date shown is actually the date your letter was generated. We try to mail the letters as soon as possible after they are printed, usually within 2 days; however, there are occasions when it may take up to 7-10 days before they are ready to go into the mail. Please be patient and if your letter does not arrive within 14 days of the date posted on your status, you may call our office for an update. (See also Current Status Description: Decision Letter Sent).
Q: My online status now says “Seat Deposit”. Does that mean I’ve been accepted?
A: The “Fees” feature of the online status check displays the fees associated with the admissions process. This section will look the same for all applicants, regardless of their admission decision, i.e. each applicant will show a line for Application Fee, Seat Deposit, and Seat Deposit Balance. If there is no amount entered in the “Amount Due” or no date in the “Date Due” field, then you do not have any outstanding fee to pay. If there is a “Date Due” and “Amount Due”, you should also see the “Date Paid” heading which will display the date your payment is received by the Admissions Office.
