Special Critiquing Workshop (Tuesday, June 29):

There will be a Critiquing Workshop on Tuesday of the conference that requires additional advance registration (the workshop will last from approximately 10:00am - 3:00pm):

Workshop on Critiquing Student Work - Presented by Joan Malmud Rocklin, University of Oregon.  The Workshop on Critiquing Student Work is part of the New Teachers Track.  This workshop, based on Dan Barnett's Triage in the Trenches, 38 U. Toledo L. Rev. 651 (2007), is especially designed for new teachers looking for hands-on suggestions from some of the Institute's most experienced teachers.  Participants will receive instruction about providing effective written feedback.  Then, they will join small group sessions during which participants will work together on critiquing student samples.  The schedule for the workshop is as follows:

10:00-10:45 a.m. The First Draft: Critiquing Organization and Analysis
11:00-12:15 p.m. Small Group Session: Practice Critique
1:30-2:15 p.m. Small Group Session: Discuss Critique
2:30-3:15 p.m. Efficiency and Consistency: The Eternal Quest
Space is limited and advance registration is required. To register for the workshop, please fill out the registration form at: http://www.law.uoregon.edu/lrw/workshop2010. After registering, participants will receive materials necessary for the workshop.
