Drawing upon contemporary sociology and class theory, this presentation will open up a discussion about class and the role it plays in legal writing and legal skills education. We will also discuss the historical role that class played to create the division between casebook teaching and practical teaching. We will conclude with a discussion of critical pedagogy and approaches we might use to build student awareness of class in the law and legal education.
